We are in search of a Red Seal-certified Heavy Equipment Mechanic who is seeking a secure and rewarding position. The main duties are to perform general repairs and troubleshooting, preventative and routine maintenance as well as the overhaul of equipment used within the scope of our operations. These duties may be conducted in the shop setting, as well as on field projects both surface and underground.
Some of the key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Check for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine the extent of repair required
- Adjust equipment, repair or replace defective parts, components or systems
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that work meets regulatory specifications
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
- Service specialty attachments or components and maintain, adjust and repair such items
- Ensure Tim McDowell Equipment Ltd. and Client’s standards for safe working conditions are observed
- Must have a strong understanding of Diesel engines and all components; heavy-duty truck steering, suspension, brake & transmission systems; fuel injection systems; hydraulic systems; electrical repairs; ability to use tools and equipment required to perform the work; ability to handle 100 lbs of weight
- Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, with a clean driver abstract
Required Experience and Certifications:
- Red Seal certification
- Willing to train for additional certifications
- 2+ years of relevant heavy equipment repair experience
- Completion of a three to five-year apprenticeship program
- Heavy Equipment Mechanics Diploma (or equivalent)
Training / Other Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License
- DZ Driver’s License is considered an asset
Salary:
$45.00-$65.00 per hour
